The officers pushed Julian into the back of the lead police cruiser, shutting the door with a heavy thud. The remaining wedding guests had gathered near the entrance archways, watching in absolute disbelief as the groom was driven away in handcuffs while his mother wept uncontrollably on the lawn.
Arthur: Harrison, you have until six o'clock tomorrow morning to vacate this property. My security team will take possession of the gatehouse at sunrise.
Julian's Father: Where are we supposed to go, Arthur? We have nowhere to go!
Arthur: You can stay in one of your failed budget hotels down in south Dallas. That is, if you can afford the nightly rate once your personal cards decline.
Arthur turned his back on the broken family and walked back toward his SUV. He climbed into the back seat, sitting beside Clara, who had a thick white bandage wrapped neatly around her forearm.
Arthur: How are you feeling, sweetheart?
Clara: Better... the paramedic gave me something for the pain. Is it really over, Dad?
Arthur: It's completely over, Clara. Julian is in police custody, their business is bankrupt, and they will never come within a mile of you again.
Clara: I was so stupid, Dad... I thought he really loved me. I thought his family wanted me to be part of their lives...
Arthur: You were not stupid, Clara. You were kind, and greedy people took advantage of your good heart. But they forgot one simple thing.
Clara: What's that?
Arthur: They forgot who your father is.
Clara leaned her head against Arthur’s shoulder, letting out a deep, trembling sigh of relief as the black SUV pulled away from the estate, leaving behind the flashing police lights and the ruined wedding.
Marcus: Mr. Vance, the legal team wants to know if we should proceed with the press conference at five.
Arthur: Run it on every major network in the state, Marcus. Make sure the entire country sees what kind of family the Sterlings really are.
Marcus: Understood, sir. And what about Miss Clara's trust fund?
Arthur: Transfer the management rights entirely into her name starting tomorrow. She is going to use their settlement money to start her own foundation for abused women.
Clara: Dad... can we really do that?
Arthur: We can do whatever you want, sweetheart. You're free now.
