David burst into the bright room with a look of utter shock across his pale face.
He saw his mother standing over his wife with her hands raised in deep anger.
David: Let her go right now, Mom!
David rushed across the wooden floor and stepped directly between the two women.
He shoved his mother back firmly to create space between her and his frightened wife.
Eleanor lost her balance on the rug and fell backward onto the smooth hardwood floor.
Eleanor: David! How dare you lay a hand on your own mother!
David: What are you doing in our home attacking Sarah like this?
David turned immediately and pulled Sarah into a tight protective embrace against his chest.
David: I have got you, Sarah, you are safe now.
Sarah leaned against David as her entire body trembled from the sudden scary confrontation.
Sarah: She came in here yelling about some old papers in an envelope.
David: What papers are you talking about, Mom?
Eleanor sat up on the floor and pointed a trembling finger at the younger woman.
Eleanor: She was digging through the legal documents in the home office downstairs!
Sarah: That is not true! I was only organizing the filing cabinet for David!
David looked down at the paper envelope lying on the floor near Eleanor's foot.
David: Mom, those are my personal financial documents and tax records.
Eleanor: She has no right to look at our family inheritance details!
David pulled the blanket higher over his crying child to soothe him softly.
David: Sarah is my wife and this is our home now, Eleanor.
Eleanor: She is trying to turn you against your own blood!
David pointed firmly toward the doorway leading out to the main hallway upstairs.
David: Get up and leave this house right now before I call the police.
Eleanor gasped as she pulled herself up using the edge of the wardrobe.
Eleanor: You will regret choosing her over your family, David!
She turned around quickly and hurried down the stairs with heavy rushing steps.
