Victoria's hands began to shake visible inside her teal dress sleeves as Arthur mentioned the security network.
"The security cameras on the second floor have been broken for weeks, Arthur," Victoria said quickly, stepping closer.
"There is no reason to look at useless screens when you have my word as your wife," Victoria added smoothly.
Arthur narrowed his eyes, remembering that he had personally ordered the entire camera system upgraded two days ago.
"The security cameras were fully restored yesterday morning, Victoria," Arthur revealed in a quiet, harsh tone.
Victoria froze completely, the color draining entirely from her red lips as she stared at her husband.
Arthur reached into his suit jacket, pulled out his smartphone, and tapped the mansion security application icon.
He loaded the high-definition live feeds and scrolled back to the recording from ten minutes prior.
Clara stood quietly beside the marble pillar, holding her breath as Arthur watched the crisp video playback.
On the bright phone screen, Victoria's actions were captured clearly from three separate high-angle hallway cameras.
The video showed Victoria wheeling the baby carrier toward the edge and deliberately pushing it over the railing.
It showed Clara sprinting across the hall, throwing her body down, and catching the carrier with heroic speed.
Arthur's jaw clenched tightly as he stared at the undeniable visual evidence of his wife's horrific betrayal.
He looked up from the screen, his face twisted in absolute fury and heartbreak as he confronted Victoria.
"You tried to destroy my child," Arthur said, his voice trembling with a terrifying, contained rage.
"Arthur, please! I can explain everything! It was an accident!" Victoria cried out, backing away slowly.
"An accident? You looked down, lined up the drop, and pushed him!" Arthur shouted, his voice shaking the glass chandeliers.
Victoria turned around quickly, intending to rush up the stairs to gather her passport and personal jewelry.
Arthur stepped forward fast, grabbing her arm firmly and stopping her dead in her tracks on the marble floor.
"You are not going anywhere near the upper rooms of this house ever again," Arthur declared sternly.
"Let go of me! You have no right to touch me like this!" Victoria screamed, trying to pull away frantically.
"I have every legal right to hold a criminal until the authorities arrive," Arthur replied with cold authority.
Clara stepped forward holding little Leo, who had finally stopped crying and was now resting against her shoulder.
"Sir, she also had an open folder on her desk this morning regarding the child's life insurance policies," Clara said.
Arthur looked at Victoria with pure disgust, realizing the full depth of her wicked, greedy scheme.
"You married me for my money, and you tried to eliminate my heir to take it all," Arthur growled.
Victoria dropped her fake panic, her face hardening into a cold, cruel mask as she sneered at him.
"You were foolish to leave everything to a tiny baby while treating me like a decoration!" Victoria spat out.
