Uncovering The Inheritance

Officer Davis: Turn around and place your hands behind your back, ma'am. You're being detained for attempted capital murder and arson.

Evelyn: Richard, tell them to stop! You're making a terrible mistake! I love Leo!

Leo: No you don't... you told me yesterday that you wished I was never born!

The surrounding guests gasped loudly, several of them pulling out their phones to record the scene as the police officer snapped heavy metal handcuffs over Evelyn's wrists.

Evelyn: You little traitor! You ruined my life!

Sarah: Keep your mouth shut away from him! You're never going to speak to this little boy ever again!

Officer Davis: Walk toward the cruiser, ma'am. Let's go.

Evelyn screamed and kicked as the two officers escorted her down the stone steps toward the police car, her green dress getting smeared with black soot from the driveway pavement.

Richard sank onto the outdoor bench, burying his face in his hands as he began to sob uncontrollably. The second floor of his multi-million-dollar mansion was heavily damaged, but the pain in his chest had nothing to do with the property.

Richard: I brought a monster into our home, Sarah... I was so blind. I thought she genuinely cared about our family.

Sarah: She saw a wealthy man and a sweet child with a massive trust fund, Mr. Sterling. People like her only care about power and money.

Richard: You saved his life, Sarah... You ran straight into a burning building while everyone else stood out here on the lawn saving their own skins.

Sarah: I promised his mother on her deathbed that I would protect Leo with my life. A uniform doesn't change a promise.

Richard: I was going to fire you last week because Evelyn said you were being disrespectful to her...

Sarah: She tried to fire me three times because I refused to leave Leo alone in his room when she wanted to host her high-society luncheons.

Richard: I am so sorry, Sarah. I am so deeply sorry for not listening to you sooner.

Leo: Daddy... is Sarah going to stay with us?

Richard: Sarah is never leaving us, Leo. She's family now.

Paramedics rushed onto the patio, carrying medical bags and oxygen masks to inspect Leo and Sarah for smoke inhalation.

Paramedic: Both of you need to put these oxygen masks on right now. Your lungs have been exposed to heavy carbon monoxide.

Sarah: Check the boy first, please. Make sure his throat isn't burned.

Paramedic: He's doing surprisingly well thanks to that wet apron you wrapped around his face. You saved his vocal cords and lungs, young lady.
