The sound of loud police sirens began to echo from the long driveway outside the mansion. Julian ran toward the large office window, looking out to see three police cars pulling up to the front doors. Red and blue lights flashed brightly against the dark glass windows.
Julian: Mom, they are really here! What do we do now?
Evelyn: Be quiet, Julian! Let me talk to the officers. We did nothing wrong!
Victoria: You gave my daughter small doses of poison every single day to keep her weak.
Clara sat up slowly with the help of the gentle bodyguard, looking at her stepmother in pure disbelief. She had trusted Evelyn for two whole years, believing that the daily white pills were meant to help her heal after her father died.
Clara: The medicine... you were making me sick on purpose?
Evelyn: She is lying to you, Clara! I cared for you when no one else would!
Victoria: You locked her in this house and tried to steal her eighteen million dollar inheritance!
Four armed police officers rushed into the home office with their flashlights lit and handcuffs ready. The lead officer looked at Victoria, giving her a firm nod before turning his attention directly to Evelyn and her son.
Police Officer: Evelyn Vance and Julian Vance, stay where you are! Put your hands behind your back!
Julian: This is a mistake! My mother did not do anything wrong!
Police Officer: We have the recorded phone calls and bank records, son. Put your hands behind your back now.
The officers quickly pinned Julian to the floor, pulling his arms behind his spine to snap cold steel handcuffs around his wrists. Evelyn screamed loudly as another officer pulled her up from the ground, wrapping her wrists in heavy iron cuffs as well.
