Arthur had spent his entire life building a reputation as a calm, calculated businessman. He never raised his voice in meetings, and he always handled legal disputes through courtrooms and settlement negotiations. But watching his innocent kids cower on the floor while a greedy woman insulted their late mother pushed him past his limit. Driven by pure protective instinct, he stepped forward across the marble floor.
Before Eleanor could even finish her smug smile, Arthur raised his hand and delivered a hard, stinging slap directly across her left cheek. The sharp sound cracked through the quiet foyer like a gunshot. Eleanor's head snapped to the side, her high heels squeaking on the smooth floor as she stumbled backward.
Stepmother: Ah! How dare you strike me!
Father: Shut your mouth!
Arthur did not hesitate for a single second. Before Eleanor could recover her balance, he stepped in close and delivered a second powerful slap across her right cheek, followed immediately by a third sharp strike that sent her spinning toward the wall. Eleanor let out a loud, shrill scream as her knees gave out completely beneath her. She crashed hard onto the light marble floor in a heap of metallic gold fabric, completely shocked and breathless.
The bright daylight exposed every detail of the scene. Eleanor lay on the floor holding her bright red, swelling cheek with trembling fingers. Tears of pain and humiliation rushed down her heavy makeup. The arrogant smile she had worn just moments ago was completely gone, replaced by absolute horror. She looked up to see Arthur looming over her like a towering judge.
Arthur leaned down and grabbed her chin firmly in his right hand, forcing her to look straight into his eyes. His grip was tight, making it impossible for her to turn away. His voice was not a loud shout anymore, but a terrifyingly quiet, icy whisper that chilled Eleanor to her very core.
Father: You are dead to this family! Get out of my house right now!
Stepmother: Arthur please, I'm your wife, you have to talk to my lawyer first!
Father: You have five minutes to take your shoes and leave before my security team throws you into the street.
Arthur let go of her chin with disgust, wiping his hand on his pants as if he had touched something filthy. Eleanor scrambled backward on her hands and knees, her gold dress tearing slightly at the seam. She realized right then that all her plans to gain control of the mansion, the trust fund, and the family fortune had completely ruined in less than five minutes.
