A Father Finds Out His Wife Hates His Daughter

Mark did not wait for Victoria to process her massive mistake. He calmly reached into his back pocket and pulled out his mobile phone, dialing a direct extension he knew by heart.

Father: Detective Miller? This is Mark. I need an official police unit sent to my residence immediately. I am filing charges for child endangerment and unlawful confinement against my wife.

Victoria: Mark! No! Stop this right now! You can't call the police on me!

Father: Watch me, Victoria. You wanted my money, but you couldn't even pretend to be human to a helpless little girl.

Victoria lunged forward, trying to grab Mark's arm, but Mark stepped back smoothly, keeping his body between her and Lily. Martha stood cowering near the stairs, weeping softly into her hands as she realized her own complicity had destroyed her life as well.

Victoria: Please, Mark! We can talk about this! I will change, I promise! I'll go to therapy, I'll be nice to her!

Father: We are completely done. You have exactly ten minutes to pack one single suitcase of your personal clothes and get out of my home before the sheriff places you in handcuffs.

Victoria: You can't kick me out into the street like a dog!

Father: If you are still standing on my marble floor when the police arrive, I will personally handle the prosecution to ensure you serve maximum prison time for what you did to my daughter.

Victoria stared into Mark's cold, unrelenting eyes and knew she had lost everything. Her greed, cruelty, and fake elegance had collapsed entirely in a single afternoon. Screaming in pure frustration, she turned around, grabbed her heavy dress train, and ran frantically up the grand curved staircase to pack whatever she could grab before the authorities arrived.

Mark turned his back on the stairs and walked over to Martha, who was trembling violently near the banister.

Father: Martha, packing your things as well. Your employment is terminated effective immediately. However, because you eventually confessed the truth to me today, I will not press criminal charges against you. Take your belongings and leave peacefully.

Housekeeper: Thank you, sir... I am so sorry... I am so terribly sorry for what I allowed to happen to sweet Lily.

Martha lowered her head in deep shame and quickly walked toward the back exit service door, leaving the main hallway completely clear of traitorous presence.
