David rushed into the central foyer after hearing his daughter's terrified screams.
He saw Evelyn towering over Maya near the upper balcony railing.
David: Evelyn! Get away from my daughter right now!
David sprinted up the wide marble staircase two steps at a time.
His face was red with pure rage as he reached the top floor.
He immediately stepped between Evelyn and the frightened eight-year-old girl.
Maya wrapped her arms around her father's waist and sobbed heavily into his coat.
Maya: She took mom's necklace, Daddy! She called me a thief!
David: Shh, it's okay, Maya, Daddy is right here now.
David glared directly into Evelyn's cold eyes with steady intensity.
David: How dare you lay a hand on my child in this house!
Evelyn: She stole estate property right from my private drawer, David!
David: She is eight years old, and you planted that in her bag!
Evelyn: I did no such thing! She belongs in reform school!
David: You have been setting traps for us ever since my father died!
David reached into his inner coat pocket and pulled out a thick envelope.
Evelyn's eyes widened with sudden panic as she recognized the official seal.
Evelyn: What is that document in your hand?
David: This is the original original trust fund document signed by my mother.
Evelyn: That document was destroyed in the office fire three years ago!
David: You thought you destroyed it, but my mother kept a duplicate safely stored.
David held up the thick legal paper so the staff members below could see.
David: This estate was never left to you in full, Evelyn.
Evelyn: That is a lie! I am the legal head of this family!
David: My mother left seventy percent of the inheritance directly to Maya.
Evelyn's breath hitched as her face turned completely pale with shock.
Evelyn: You are making up stories to steal my life's work!
David: The legal team downstairs has already verified every signature on this page.
Maya wiped her tear-streaked eyes and looked up at her brave father.
Maya: Does this mean we don't have to leave, Daddy?
David: We are never leaving, Maya, but someone else certainly is.
