Eleanor's hands began to shake as she leaned against the hallway wall.
She looked around the vast empty corridor for help that was not coming.
Eleanor: Mark, son, you cannot throw me out after all these years.
Mark: Do not call me your son when you tried to destroy my child.
Sarah: You treated Lily like an stranger in her own grandfather's home.
Sarah: You tried to send her away to a private boarding school up north.
Eleanor: It was for her education and her proper upbringing!
Mark: It was to keep her away from the truth about this estate!
Mark walked toward the home office doors located at the end of hall.
He placed Lily down gently on a soft leather chair near the desk.
Mark: Stay right here for one minute, sweetie, while daddy finishes this.
He walked over to the large steel safe mounted inside the wooden wall.
Eleanor: You do not have the combination to my private safe box!
Mark: My father gave me his birth date code before he passed away.
Mark typed six numbers slowly into the glowing silver digital keypad.
A soft click sound echoed inside the quiet room as the lock turned open.
Eleanor gasped again and rushed forward to grab the heavy steel door.
Eleanor: Get your hands out of my private personal files right now!
Sarah stepped firmly between Eleanor and the open office safe door.
Sarah: Touch him and I will call the sheriff standing outside the gate.
Eleanor: You called the county police to my private family residence?
Sarah: They are waiting at the front driveway with a legal search order.
Mark pulled out a thick blue ledger covered in old black ribbon ties.
He untied the knot and opened the front cover on the desk light.
Mark: Here is my father's real handwriting from ten years ago.
Mark: He knew what you were planning before he got sick.
