The heavy air in the mansion felt thicker with every step Sarah took.
Mark followed close behind her while carrying Lily safely on his hip.
Mark: Sarah, explain everything from the beginning so I can understand.

Sarah: She paid off an old clerk to hide the original blood test results.
Eleanor retreated backward toward the upper hallway doors with frantic eyes.

Mark stopped at the top of the stairs and looked at Eleanor with pain.

Lily buried her little face into Mark's grey suit jacket collar.

Eleanor: I am the lady of this house, and I demand you leave now!
Sarah: You hold no legal ownership of this building or the land under it.
Sarah tossed the second set of pages directly onto the polished floor.
The white pages slid across the smooth tile surface toward Eleanor's shoes.

Eleanor looked down at the paper without bending down to touch it.
Eleanor: This is a cruel setup organized by people who hate my success.
Mark: My father left a backup clause in his original city trust document.
Mark: If fraud was committed, the entire estate reverts to my name alone.
