Victoria walked down the wide stone staircase with slow, deliberate steps.
She adjusted her expensive dress as if nothing wrong had taken place at all.
"Do not listen to that lying servant, Arthur," Victoria said with a calm voice.
"The clumsy girl slipped and fell over the edge all by herself."
Lily wrapped her small arms around Sarah's neck, shaking uncontrollably from cold and fear.
"She pushed me, Daddy," Lily sobbed softly, hiding her wet face.
Arthur looked into his young daughter's tearful eyes and saw the terrible truth.
A wild rage filled Arthur's chest as he turned to face his new wife.
He stepped forward quickly, cutting off Victoria's path near the lounge chairs.
Arthur: You dared to lay a hand on my innocent daughter?
Victoria: Arthur, darling, you are letting your emotions cloud your judgment!
Arthur: Do not call me darling ever again!
Victoria: She is just an adopted child who is ruining our real marriage!
Arthur: She is my real daughter, and you are absolute poison!
Arthur grabbed Victoria by her shoulders and forced her back toward the stone stairs.
Victoria gasped sharply as Arthur confronted her with furious intensity.
"You tried to ruin this family for her money!" Arthur roared loudly.
Victoria stumbled backward, losing her balance near a heavy poolside chair.
She fell hard onto the outdoor rug, her face red with sudden embarrassment and shock.
Sarah wrapped a dry towel around Lily and kept her close to the pool.
"You will pay for every single thing you did today," Arthur growled out angrily.
Victoria looked up from the floor, her calm act completely dropping away now.
"You cannot do this to me!" Victoria screamed, her voice shrill and ugly.
"I am your legal wife, Arthur! You owe me everything!"
Arthur laughed coldly, pulling his mobile phone straight out of his jacket pocket.
"You will get nothing from me except a prison cell," Arthur replied firmly.
He immediately speed-dialed his top family divorce lawyer right in front of her.
Victoria's face turned completely white as she realized her plan had totally failed.
The sweet life of luxury she wanted was vanishing before her very eyes.
