The Cruel Trip At Crosswalk

Marcus: "Hey! You in the grey hoodie! Don't you dare take another step!"

Jason stopped instantly, his body tensing as the booming voice echoed across the street. He turned around slowly, trying to maintain an indifferent smirk despite his pale face.

Jason: "What? It was an accident. She bumped into my foot."

Marcus: "An accident? I watched you stick your leg out from ten feet away, kid. You kicked her crutch on purpose!"

Lily: "My knee hurts... Barnaby got dirty..."

Marcus: "Hold on to my arm, sweetheart. Take your time. Stand up nice and steady."

Marcus carefully stabilized Lily as she pushed herself up on her aluminum crutches[cite: 1]. Her bottom lip trembled, tears leaving faint tracks through the dust on her cheeks[cite: 1]. A middle-aged woman wearing a business suit stepped forward from the sidewalk, pointing a finger at Jason.

Bystander Woman: "He's telling the truth! I saw it too! That boy deliberately tripped her!"

Jason: "She shouldn't be blocking the whole crosswalk! People have places to go!"

Marcus: "Shut your mouth! She has every right to walk on this street without some arrogant bully hurting her!"

Marcus turned back to Lily, his rough, tattooed hand brushing a stray strand of hair behind her ear. His tone softened completely, contrasting sharply with the thunderous anger in his eyes a second ago.

Marcus: "Are you bleeding anywhere, little one? Did you hit your head?"

Lily: "No... just my hands. They scraped the road."

Marcus: "You're a brave girl. Let me see those palms."

Lily held out her small hands. Her palms were red and dusted with grit, but the skin wasn't deeply torn. Marcus pulled a clean handkerchief from his vest pocket and gently wiped away the dirt.

Jason: "Look, it's not a big deal. She's fine. Can I go now?"

Marcus: "You think this is over? You think you can knock a disabled child into the street and just walk away?"

Jason: "I said I was sorry under my breath! What else do you want?"

Marcus: "A real man doesn't hurt people who can't fight back. And a real man stands up when he makes a mistake."

Marcus turned full around, his six-foot-four frame towering over the teenager[cite: 1]. The crowd watched in dead silence as the biker took three long, deliberate strides toward Jason[cite: 1].

Jason: "Stay away from me, man! I'll call my dad! He's a lawyer!"

Marcus: "Call him. Call your dad, call the police, call whoever you want. But before anyone gets here, you are going to look this young lady in the eye."

Lily: "Mister... it's okay... he doesn't have to..."

Marcus: "No, sweetheart. It's not okay. People like him think the world belongs only to the strong. It's time someone taught him a lesson in respect."
