Arthur: You can't do this to me! Do you know who I am?! I am Arthur Sterling!
Dr. Vance: Right now, you are a trespasser and a fraud criminal, Mr. Sterling.
The heavy hospital doors flew open again, and two armed city police officers stepped into the room, accompanied by the hospital's head of security. The officers took one look at the shattered plaster on the floor and Arthur standing tall in his hospital gown.
Police Officer 1: Arthur Sterling?
Arthur: Officer! Thank God you're here! These people held me against my will and forced me into this room!
Police Officer 1: Save it, sir. We just watched the security feed in the security manager's office downstairs. Turn around and put your hands behind your back.
Arthur: What?! You're arresting ME?! I am an elderly man! I am sick!
Police Officer 2: You look pretty agile for a man with a shattered tibia, sir. Hands behind your back, now.
The second officer grabbed Arthur's arms, twisting them behind his back and snapping cold steel handcuffs onto his wrists. Arthur thrashing against the restraint, his hospital gown flapping as he screamed at the top of his lungs.
Arthur: Eleanor! Tell them to stop! Tell them it was all a misunderstanding!
Eleanor: No, Dad. The only misunderstanding was me believing that you ever loved us.
Arthur: You ungrateful bitch! I raised you! You owe me that inheritance!
Eleanor: My husband worked his entire life to build a future for Leo and me. You tried to steal our home while pretending to be on your deathbed. I never want to see your face again.
Police Officer 1: You have the right to remain silent, Mr. Sterling. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.
The officers marched Arthur out of the room, his loud, angry shouts echoing down the long, quiet hallway as patients and nurses stepped out into the corridor to watch the disgraced man being led away in chains.
Leo: He's really gone, Mom.
Eleanor: Yes, honey... he's gone.
Eleanor dropped to her knees on the linoleum floor, pulling Leo into a tight, emotional hug. Tears overflowed from her eyes, but for the first time in months, she felt a massive weight lift off her shoulders.
