The Paperwork Trap

Eleanor: I can't believe this... I trusted you! I brought you to the best specialists in the state!

Arthur: Specialists? Those idiots downtown took twenty thousand dollars of your money to stamp my fake medical reports! It was easier than taking candy from a baby!

Dr. Vance: You bribed medical staff at another facility to falsify official health records?

Arthur: What if I did?! Money talks in this city, Vance! A few thousand dollars in the right hands, and any doctor will sign whatever paper you put in front of them!

Leo: Mom, don't give him the folder. He was going to sell the house as soon as you signed it!

Arthur: Shut up, you miserable little pest! If you hadn't brought that rock in here, your mother would have signed the deed by four o'clock today!

Eleanor: Is that true, Dad? Were you going to sell the house out from under us?

Arthur took a step forward, his eyes cold and devoid of any paternal warmth. He reached out his hand toward the leather folder in Eleanor's grip.

Arthur: Give me those papers, Eleanor. You don't have the stomach to run a real real estate empire. Sign the power of attorney over to me right now, or I'll drag you through public court for neglecting an elderly parent!

Eleanor: You wouldn't dare...

Arthur: Try me! I'll tell the press that you refused to pay my medical bills! I'll ruin your reputation, your charity, and your family name before the week is over!

Dr. Hayes: I don't think you'll be telling anyone anything, Mr. Sterling.

Doctor Hayes pointed toward the wall near the door, where a small white security camera mounted on the ceiling was glowing with a steady red light.

Dr. Hayes: Every private room in this VIP wing is equipped with high-definition audio and video recording for patient safety monitoring. Your entire confession—about the fake injuries, the bribed doctors, the signal jammer, and the extortion—has been streamed live to our hospital security headquarters.

Arthur turned his head sharply toward the ceiling camera, his face turning completely pale as he realized the trap he had just walked into.

Arthur: Turn that off! Delete that footage immediately!

Dr. Vance: That footage is already being transferred to the City Police Department, sir. And as chief of medicine, I am officially pressing charges against you for insurance fraud, grand larceny, and destruction of hospital property.
