Shattered glass cascaded across the polished white marble floor with a sharp and echoing sound.
Lily was sitting on the ground right next to the broken display pedestal, crying out loud in pure horror.
Richard stood over the little girl, shouting aggressively as he pointed his finger at her small shaking body.
"She destroyed the display!" Richard yelled out so that every single guest in the mansion could hear him.
Evelyn rushed forward instantly, her heart pounding with extreme fear and rage for her daughter's safety.
She pushed past several stunned guests to reach Lily before anyone else could get close to her.
"Get away from my daughter right now!" Evelyn screamed as she threw herself between Richard and Lily.
Richard stepped forward aggressively, his face red with sudden uncontrollable anger.
"Get out of the way!" Richard shouted loudly as he reached out and forcefully shoved Evelyn backward.
Evelyn stumbled back from the sudden impact, barely keeping her balance on the slippery polished marble floor.
The entire room gasped loudly as they watched the violent confrontation unfold before their very eyes.
Lily sobbed uncontrollably among the sparkling sharp glass shards spread out across the bright floor.
"You pushed me into it, Mommy! He pushed me!" Lily cried out through her thick tearful gasps.
Evelyn realized in an instant that Richard had deliberately shoved Lily into the fragile glass pedestal on purpose.
It was a cheap and vicious trick to blame the child and paint Evelyn as an unfit mother in public.
Eleanor stepped into the center of the room, looking at Evelyn with absolute disgust and zero sympathy.
"Stop ruining my charity party with your endless trashy drama, Evelyn," Eleanor spoke with ice cold authority.
Evelyn looked at the woman who had tormented her for years during her unhappy marriage.
She saw the cruel smirk hidden beneath Eleanor's careful posture and knew this was all carefully planned.
They wanted to call child protective services and use this incident to strip away Evelyn's legal custody rights.
