David: You monster!
Without another word, David stepped forward, his eyes burning with intense authority and hatred. Before Victoria could even raise her arms to protect herself, David raised his right hand and delivered a hard, stinging slap across her face. The sound of the slap cracked through the large marble hall like a gunshot. Victoria screamed in utter shock as her head snapped to the side. But David was far from finished. Driven by the burning instinct to defend his helpless motherless baby, he brought his hand back and slapped her hard across her cheek a second time, then a third time, and finally a fourth time in rapid succession.
Victoria: Ah! Stop! David, please stop! It hurts!
The force of the four rapid slaps sent Victoria tumbling back down onto the marble floor. She collapsed onto her side under the bright daylight, clutching her red, burning cheek with both hands. Tears of pain and terror streamed down her face, ruining her heavy makeup. She looked up at David, cowering like a beaten dog, her body shaking hysterically as she realized her life of luxury, money, and status was crumbling away right in front of her eyes.
David stood over her like an absolute force of nature, his shadow completely covering her small, miserable frame on the floor. His tall structure towered over her, his face dark with unrelenting anger as he pointed a strong finger directly down at her face. The peaceful, polite demeanor he usually kept was gone, replaced by the fierce, protective rage of a loving father whose family had been threatened.
David: Touch my son ever again, and I will destroy your entire life! Do you hear me?
Victoria: David, I am sorry! Please, forgive me! I was stressed!
David: Get out of my sight! Get out of my house before I have the police come here and lock you in a cell for child abuse! Your engagement is over! The marriage is canceled! You will leave this property right now with nothing but the clothes on your back!
Victoria knew he meant every single word. David was an extremely wealthy and influential man with top legal teams at his absolute disposal. If she stayed a second longer, he could easily follow through on his promise to ruin her family name, revoke her trust fund access, and press criminal charges that would put her behind bars for years. Shaking with uncontrollable fear, Victoria scrambled up from the slippery marble floor, her expensive sky-blue gown completely ruined, and ran out the grand double doors toward the driveway, sobbing loudly in absolute defeat.
The heavy doors slammed shut behind her, leaving the grand hall in deep, peaceful quiet once again. The bright natural daylight continued to shine through the tall glass windows, illuminating the American flag on the wall and the quiet room where an innocent child had just been saved from ongoing suffering.
