Arthur Montgomery walked briskly into the grand foyer, flanked by two uniformed police officers behind him.
His face was pale with rage as he took in the scene playing out above.
Arthur: What on earth is happening in my house right now?!
Laura: Arthur darling, thank goodness you came home right at this crazy moment!
Laura voice instantly shifted into a soft, frightened whisper as she adjusted her gown quickly.
Laura: This maid tried to attack me and put your son in serious danger!
Leo ran down the marble steps quickly and threw his arms around his father legs.
Leo: Dad, she is lying to you, she grabbed my bag and shouted!
Leo: Stepmother said she wanted me gone from your life forever today!
Arthur looked down at his crying son, his gritted teeth showing his growing deep fury.
He looked up at Elena, who stood calm and dignified at the top landing.
Elena: Mr. Montgomery, I have protected Leo since the day his mother passed away.
Elena: I would never let anyone hurt him, especially not behind your back.
Laura hurried down the stairs, her face flushed red with sudden panic and anger.
Laura: Arthur, do not listen to this servant or a confused small child!
Arthur: I did not bring these officers here because of a simple household argument.
Laura froze in her tracks on the bottom step as Arthur pulled out papers.
Arthur: I brought them here because my auditors found severe missing funds today.
Laura: I have no idea what you are talking about right now, Arthur!
Arthur: Three million dollars were transferred from Leo trust fund into your personal account.
Laura backed away slowly as the two police officers stepped forward into the center foyer.
Laura: That was an investment management mistake made by my financial consultant recently!
Elena: She also tried to delete the security camera recordings from this morning, sir.
Elena pulled a small memory card out of her apron pocket and held it up.
Elena: I saved the backup footage before she could access the master control panel.
Laura lunged forward toward Elena with a sudden screech of pure desperation and rage.
Laura: Give me that card right now, you worthless little traitor!
Arthur stepped between them firmly, pushing Laura away with a cold and stern look.
Arthur: Touch her again and you will regret every choice you made today.
Officer: Laura Montgomery, you are under arrest for fraud and child endangerment.
The officer grabbed Laura arms and clicked silver handcuffs securely around her pale wrists.
