The next morning, Victoria did not go away quietly. Furious that her access to the luxury mansion, the credit cards, and the private jet had been revoked overnight, she hired a slick private lawyer to threaten a massive public lawsuit against David. She claimed that she was the one who had been wrongfully assaulted inside the house and demanded a heavy financial settlement to stay quiet.
She set up a meeting at a private conference room downtown, hoping to intimidate David into signing away a large portion of the estate before the police investigation went any further. David arrived at the meeting alongside his trusted legal team and Elena.
Victoria sat at the end of the long oak table, dressed in expensive clothes, wearing dark sunglasses to hide her cold, desperate eyes. Her attorney spoke first, slapping a thick legal document onto the table with an arrogant smile.
Victoria's Lawyer: My client is willing to drop all claims of wrongful termination and defamation if you pay a ten million dollar settlement today.
David: You must be out of your mind if you think I will give you a single dime.
Victoria: Be careful, David. A messy lawsuit will ruin your company's reputation and destroy your family name in the news.
Elena: Your reputation is already gone, ma'am. You put your hands on a helpless child.
Victoria: Shut up, maid! No judge will take the word of a hired servant over mine!
David reached into his leather briefcase and pulled out a small black flash drive. He placed it calmly on the center of the polished conference table. Victoria’s lawyer frowned, looking down at the drive, while Victoria’s posture suddenly stiffened.
David: We installed hidden motion-activated cameras inside the nursery three weeks ago when we updated the security system. Every single angle of what you did to my daughter yesterday was recorded in crystal clear high definition audio and video.
Victoria’s face drained of all color instantly. Her mouth opened, but no words came out. The arrogant lawyer beside her looked at her in total shock, his confident attitude disappearing in a single second.
David: The police already have a full copy of this video. The grand jury will be reviewing it by tomorrow morning.
