Within fifteen minutes, two police officers arrived at the front gates of the Sterling estate.
David met them at the large double front doors and handed them the video evidence drive.
The officers reviewed the footage in the entryway while Victoria stood quietly under security supervision.
The lead officer turned to Victoria with a strict, serious look on his face.
Police Officer: Ma'am, you are being placed under arrest for child endangerment and reckless conduct.
Victoria: This is a massive mistake, I did not push anyone over that balcony edge!
Police Officer: You created a dangerous hazard and failed to render aid to a minor child.
The officers placed handcuffs around Victoria's wrists and led her out the front doors.
She looked back at David one last time, but his expression remained cold and unforgiving.
The police car drove away down the long paved driveway, ending her presence at the mansion.
David turned around and walked back into the living room where Sarah was sitting with Lily.
Lily was drinking her warm milk while Sarah quietly read her a cheerful storybook.
David sat down on the soft velvet sofa next to his brave little girl.
He pulled her into a warm hug and kissed the top of her head gently.
David: I am so sorry I brought someone unsafe into our home, my sweet girl.
Lily: It is okay, Daddy, because you caught me before I hit the floor.
Sarah: We will make sure this house stays completely safe and happy from now on, Mr. Sterling.
David: Thank you, Sarah, for always looking out for Lily when I was away at work.
David promised himself that he would reorganize his busy work schedule to spend more days home.
He realized that protecting his daughter was worth far more than any corporate success or wealth.
The mansion finally felt quiet and peaceful once again after the dramatic storm had passed.
Lily smiled brightly as her father held her hand while walking out into the sunny garden.
