The Boardroom Showdown

When My Daughter Spoke Up About Our Maid

At two o'clock that afternoon, Arthur Vance walked into the high-floor conference room of David's corporate office building.

Vance adjusted his expensive silk tie and carried a leather briefcase, looking confident and entirely unbothered.

David sat at the head of the long glass table, flanked by Marcus and his primary corporate attorney, Sarah.

Vance stopped in his tracks, noticing the serious expressions on everyone's faces as he approached the table.

Arthur Vance: David, your email mentioned an urgent matter regarding your family trust account updates.

David: Sit down, Arthur. We have a lot of important things to discuss today.

Arthur Vance: Is there a problem with the paperwork my office processed for you last week?

David opened a black folder on the glass table, revealing photocopies of the forged power of attorney form.

Vance's confident expression instantly vanished, replaced by a slight twitch near his left eye as he looked down.

David: We found these inside my home safe after my housekeeper tried to hide them from me.

Arthur Vance: I have no idea what you are talking about, David. That signature appears authentic to me.

Sarah: Our handwriting expert confirmed thirty minutes ago that this signature is a sophisticated manual copy.

Marcus: We also tracked the bank account transfers directly to a shell company registered under your brother-in-law's name.

Vance gripped his leather briefcase tightly, taking a step back toward the locked double doors of the boardroom.

Arthur Vance: This is an outrage, and I will not stand here and be accused without my own representation.

David: You are not leaving this room until the police arrive to take your formal statement, Arthur.

The boardroom doors opened suddenly, and two uniformed police officers stepped inside alongside the precinct detective.

Behind them stood Elena, handcuffed and keeping her head down in absolute shame as the officers led her forward.

She had been apprehended an hour earlier while attempting to board a bus out of the state line.

Elena: I told you this would not work, Arthur! I told you he would notice the missing trust papers!

Arthur Vance: Keep your mouth quiet, Elena!

Detective: Both of you have the right to remain silent. Everything you say can be used in court.

David watched in silence as the officers placed handcuffs around Arthur Vance's wrists before guiding him out.

The elaborate scheme that threatened his family's financial security had completely collapsed in less than twenty-four hours.
