Two uniformed city police officers arrived at room three hundred four just a few moments later, their heavy duty belts clinking sharply with every step. Doctor Vance quickly handed them the digital memory stick containing the clear security footage recorded by the camera mounted near the ceiling corner. The footage clearly showed Chloe shouting at Emily, kicking the heavy hospital bed frame, and attempting to physically force the paper into Emily's hand before Doctor Vance stepped in to defend the patient.
Officer Davis: Mrs. Chloe Sterling, you are under arrest for felony assault on a pregnant person, harassment, and attempted extortion.
Chloe: Get your hands off me! Do you know who I am? I will have all of your jobs for this!
Officer Davis: You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.
The officers snapped cold steel handcuffs around Chloe's wrists behind her back, pulling her toward the exit door while she kicked her feet and screamed curses at everyone in the room. Her expensive magenta pink dress looked wrinkled and messy, and her bright lipstick was smeared across her cheek. The nurses and patients in the hallway watched in utter silence as the police escorted the screaming woman down the long corridor toward the elevator bank, completely ending her reign of terror over the Sterling family name.
Once the hallway quieted down, Mr. Miller placed the final legal documents on the bedside table next to Emily's water glass. He handed her a smooth black pen and pointed to the bottom line of the primary trust document, which officially named Raymond as the joint executor alongside Emily.
Mr. Miller: Sign here, Emily. This document will officially freeze all of Chloe's remaining bank access and begin the immediate eviction process to remove her belongings from your father's mansion within forty-eight hours.
Emily: Will she ever be able to contest my father's will again after this?
Raymond: Never. With today's criminal arrest and the videotaped evidence of her behavior, no probate judge in this state will ever hear a single motion from her legal team again. The entire inheritance is officially safe forever.
Emily took a deep, trembling breath and signed her name neatly across the bottom of the white pages. A huge weight that had been pressing down on her chest for over a year suddenly lifted away, leaving her feeling lighter than she had felt since her father passed away. She looked up at Doctor Vance, who was calmly adjusting her IV line to make sure her fluid levels were completely normal after the stressful incident.
Emily: Doctor Vance... thank you for standing up for me when I could not stand up for myself.
Doctor Vance: You do not ever have to thank me for doing what is right, Emily. My job is to protect my patients, no matter who tries to hurt them.
