Victoria: Get your hands off me! Chloe, call your uncle right now!
Chloe: Mom, stop resisting! You're making this ten times worse!
Officer Miller: Ma'am, turn around or I will charge you with resisting arrest!
The officer clicked the metal handcuffs tightly around Victoria's wrists, pulling her toward the exit.
Victoria: Ethan Vance, you will pay for this humiliation! I will sue you for every dollar you own!
Ethan: My legal team is already preparing charges for medical endangerment and elder abuse, Victoria.
Victoria: You have no proof! It's my word against a maid's word!
Ethan: Look directly above your head, Victoria.
Victoria raised her eyes to the ceiling, spotting a small high-definition security camera hidden beside the crystal chandelier.
Ethan: Every corner of this ballroom is recorded twenty-four hours a day. The footage is already saved on my server.
Victoria's mouth fell open, her face completely draining of color as the officer escorted her out the door.
Chloe: Ethan... please... can we just talk in private for five minutes?
Ethan: Hand me the ring, Chloe.
Chloe: What...?
Ethan: The five-carat diamond ring on your finger. Hand it back to me.
Chloe looked down at her left hand, tears streaming through her makeup as she slipped the ring off her finger.
Chloe: You're throwing away our two years together over this?
Ethan: You showed me who you truly are today, Chloe. I should have paid closer attention months ago.
Chloe slapped the ring into Ethan's open palm and turned around, clutching her white gown as she ran out of the house in tears.
The ballroom grew quiet again, leaving only Ethan, his mother, and Daisy standing in the morning sunlight.
Eleanor: Ethan... I'm so sorry, son... I ruined your special day...
Ethan: You didn't ruin anything, Mother. You saved me from marrying into a family of monsters.
Ethan dropped to one knee beside his mother's wheelchair, taking her hands into his own.
Ethan: Are you feeling alright now? Does your chest still hurt?
Eleanor: The tablet Daisy gave me helped. My heart rate is coming back down.
Ethan: Thank God.
Ethan stood up and turned his attention to Daisy, who was quietly gathering the empty medicine glasses.
Ethan: Daisy, please put those down for a moment.
Daisy: Yes, Mr. Ethan?
Ethan: How long have you worked for my family?
Daisy: About eight months, sir. I started back in November.
Ethan: In those eight months, have you ever seen Victoria treat my mother like that before?
Daisy: Yes, sir. Several times when you were out of the house at your corporate office.
Ethan's eyes widened in anger and surprise.
Ethan: Why didn't you tell me sooner, Daisy?
Daisy: Mrs. Eleanor asked me not to say anything, sir. She didn't want to ruin your happiness before the wedding.
Ethan: Mother, is that true?
Eleanor: It is true, Ethan. I saw how happy you were with Chloe, and I thought Victoria would calm down after the ceremony.
Ethan: You should have told me the very first time she raised her voice at you!
Eleanor: I wanted you to have a family of your own, son. I didn't want my health problems to stand in your way.
Ethan: You ARE my family, Mother. Nothing is more important than your safety and respect.
Daisy: Victoria threatened to have me fired if I mentioned anything to you, Mr. Ethan. But today, when she raised her hand to strike Mrs. Eleanor, I couldn't stay silent anymore.
Ethan: You did the right thing, Daisy. You showed incredible bravery.
Daisy: My mother raised me to respect our elders, no matter how much money someone has in their bank account.
Ethan: Your mother raised a wonderful daughter.
Eleanor: Daisy is a guardian angel in this house, Ethan.
Ethan: I agree, Mother. And starting today, things are going to change around here.
