Justice On The Marble

Victoria: Open those gates, Alexis! Open them right now!

Victoria sprinted toward the double front doors, her high heels clicking wildly against the marble. But before she could reach the brass handles, two large security guards dressed in black tactical gear stepped inside, blocking the entryway completely.

Head Guard: Stand down, Mrs. Sterling. Estate grounds are secured under Miss Alexis's authority.

Victoria: I pay your salaries! Get out of my way!

Head Guard: Miss Alexis paid our salaries today, ma'am. And our back pay from the last three months that you refused to release.

Victoria backed away from the doors, her chest heaving as she found herself trapped in the middle of the grand white foyer. The police sirens were right outside the main gates now, growing louder by the second.

Alexis: You thought you could treat people like trash and never face the consequences, Victoria.

Victoria: I protected this house! I kept the business afloat while your father was dying!

Alexis: You stole twelve million dollars from the employee pension fund to buy yourself a penthouse in Miami!

Guest 9: What?! The pension fund?! My husband worked forty years for Sterling Security!

Guest 10: She drained the worker pensions?! That monster!

The mood in the room shifted from shock to pure outrage. Guests who had previously eaten Victoria's expensive catering now glared at her with bitter disgust.

Alexis: Every single dollar you took from those retirees has been traced. The court order will liquidate your personal jewelry, your luxury cars, and your offshore trusts to repay every single worker in full.

Victoria: You can't take my jewelry! My mother gave me those diamonds!

Alexis: Your mother's diamonds were bought with my father's credit card three weeks before he passed away. I have the receipts for those too.

Victoria sank to her knees once more near the bottom step, defeated, broken, and surrounded by fifty people who despised her.

Victoria: *Whispering* Why couldn't you just stay in Houston... why couldn't you just let me have this one thing...

Alexis: Because this house was built on honor, hard work, and loyalty. Principles you will never understand.

The heavy mahogany double doors swung wide open as four uniformed Texas State Troopers and three Dallas Police officers rushed into the white marble foyer, their handguns resting on their belts.

Lead Officer: Dallas PD! Nobody move! Who is Victoria Vance?

Alexis: She's right there on the floor, Officer. She's all yours.

The officers moved in swiftly, grabbing Victoria by her upper arms and pulling her up from the floor. Victoria tried to struggle, but her strength was completely gone.

Officer 1: Victoria Vance, you are under arrest for attempted murder, grand larceny, corporate fraud, and conspiracy to commit murder. You have the right to remain silent.

Victoria: AHH! You're hurting my arms! Let go of me!

Officer 2: Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. Put your hands behind your back.

The cold metallic sound of handcuffs clicking shut echoed through the foyer, providing a satisfying conclusion to the dramatic showdown.
