The Return of the Master

The Waitress Shielded a Boy Who Held a Secret

The heavy oak double doors of the mansion front entrance swung wide open.

A tall man in a dark charcoal grey suit stepped authoritatively inside.

Marcus Vance had finally arrived at his estate after his flight landed late.

Two official city police officers walked right behind him in full uniform.

The entire ballroom fell instantly silent at the sight of the master arriving.

Leo sprinted across the polished marble floor straight into his father's arms.

Marcus caught his son lifted him into a protective tight embrace instantly.

Marcus: Leo! What on earth is happening here?

Leo: Dad! She tried to steal Mom's files and take my trust fund!

Marcus looked up with sharp icy eyes toward Vanessa standing steps away.

Vanessa slowed her pace, trying to smooth her dress with trembling hands.

Vanessa: Marcus darling! Thank goodness you are finally here!

Vanessa: This crazy waitress was trying to help Leo run away with papers!

Clara stepped out into the open room, breathless but completely standing tall.

Clara: That is untrue, Mr. Vance.

Clara: She cornered your son and tried to force him away from the guests.

Vanessa: Do not listen to this simple waitress! She knows nothing!

Leo: She is lying, Dad! Clara protected me from her guards!

Leo pulled down his dark blue sock and held out the flash drive.

Leo: Mom put the real evidence here before she passed away.

Marcus took the tiny flash drive from his young son's small hand.

He looked at Vanessa with a cold expression that made her freeze completely.

Marcus: I knew something was wrong with the foundation accounting files.

Vanessa: Marcus, please let me explain!

Marcus: You used my absence to try and alter my late wife's estate will.

Vanessa: It was for the company's protection!

Marcus: You laid hands on my son in my own home.

Marcus turned to the two police officers standing right beside his frame.

Marcus: Arrest this woman for fraud and child endangerment immediately.
