The Red Dress By The Pool

The Stepmother Threw My Son Into The Deep Pool Before The Slap

Julian: Put your hands off my son! Get out of my house and never come near him again!

Victoria: Julian, you're not actually listening to a hysterical child and a soaking-wet maid!

Julian: Step away from the water, Victoria, before I lose my mind completely!

Victoria: I am your legal fiancee, Julian! Our families signed the preliminary corporate merger last month!

Julian: I don't give a damn about your father's merger!

Toby shook violently against Julian's chest, water dripping from his soaked polo shirt onto the black lapels of his father's tuxedo.

Toby: Daddy, she pulled me by my arm... She said I was a parasite who didn't belong in the mansion!

Julian: Did you say those words to my seven-year-old child, Victoria?

Victoria: The boy is lying, Julian! He was throwing a tantrum because I told him he couldn't have chocolate ice cream before dinner!

Nadia: That is an absolute lie, Mr. Sterling! I was wiping down the patio table twenty feet away!

Victoria: Shut your mouth, Nadia! You are a twenty-dollar-an-hour house cleaner who cleans toilets!

Nadia: I watched you drag him to the edge by his collar while he screamed for his life!

Victoria: How dare a servant question my authority on this estate!

Julian: Nadia has worked for my family for ten years, Victoria. She watched over Toby since the night my wife passed away.

Victoria: Well, she clearly failed her duties today, because Toby stumbled right into the deep end on his own watch!

Toby: She shoved my shoulders, Daddy! Both hands right against my back!

Julian: Did she touch you anywhere else, buddy? Tell Daddy the truth.

Julian gently pulled back the boy's short sleeve, revealing four dark purple fingerprint marks dug deep into the pale skin of his upper arm.

Julian: Look at this, Victoria. Look at your own fingernail scratches on my boy's arm!

Victoria: Those bruises were already there from his school soccer game! You know how rough he plays!

Julian: Toby doesn't play soccer, Victoria. He has an acute heart condition that requires weekly pediatric checkups.

The entire patio went completely silent, the warm wind rustling through the palm trees along the perimeter fence.

Victoria: Well... then he should have been inside his bedroom resting instead of running around out here!

Julian: He was waiting for me so we could go visit his mother's memorial garden downtown.

Victoria: Clara's memorial garden? You're still wasting money keeping fresh flowers on a grave from three years ago?

Julian: Clara was my wife, and she built the logistics system that made this entire estate possible.

Victoria: Clara is dead, Julian! I am the woman who is going to stand beside you in high society!

Julian stood up slowly, handing his trembling son to the security guard standing behind him.

Julian: Take Toby into the master sitting room, Marcus. Wrap him in heated blankets and call Dr. Reynolds immediately.

Marcus: Right away, Mr. Sterling. The paramedic detail is already at the front security gate.

Julian: And Nadia, wrap this dry towel around your shoulders and stay right beside him.

Nadia: Thank you, sir. I'll make sure he drinks warm tea with honey.

Julian watched the three of them hurry inside before turning his cold, lethal gaze back onto the woman standing in the red dress.

Julian: You thought you could drown my son in my own pool while I was on a conference call?

Victoria: Julian, darling, calm down! We can talk about this inside over a glass of vintage wine!

Julian: There will be no wine, Victoria. And there will be no wedding.
