A Father Saved Her

The Stepmother Thought Nobody Saw What She Did That Day

Arthur heard a loud cry echo off the white marble walls and sprinted out of his office instantly.

He looked up toward the grand balcony and saw his daughter sliding over the slick polished railing edge.

Fear gripped Arthur's heart as he surged across the polished floor with every ounce of speed he possessed.

Arthur: I have got you, sweetheart!

Arthur leaped forward with extended arms right underneath the balcony as Emma slipped free from the ledge.

He caught the child safely against his chest and slid hard across the smooth white marble flooring surface.

The heavy impact knocked the air from Arthur's lungs, but he held his daughter tightly in his arms.

Emma sobbed hysterically into her father's shoulder as the terrifying shock washed over her small body.

Arthur sat up on the cold floor beneath the large American flag and held his child close to his chest.

Arthur: You are safe now, sweetheart, Daddy is right here with you.

Victoria panicked at the top of the stairs when she realized Arthur had caught the child safely in time.

She adjusted her emerald green dress quickly and rushed down the marble staircase with fake tearful eyes.

Victoria: Oh my goodness, Arthur, is she alright after that terrible slip?

Arthur gently stroked Emma's hair while his mind raced with anger and intense suspicion about the sudden fall.

Victoria: She was playing too close to the rail and must have lost her balance suddenly!

Emma pointed her small shaking hand directly at Victoria while crying heavy tears against Arthur's dark suit jacket.

Emma: Daddy, she grabbed my arm and pushed me on purpose!

Arthur looked up at Victoria with sharp eyes filled with cold rage as the realization hit him deeply.

Arthur: How could you do this to my little girl in my own home?

Victoria stepped backward in surprise as Arthur stood up with his daughter cradled securely in his strong arms.
