Months passed quickly after that terrifying, painful day.
Victoria was sentenced to a very long prison term.
The divorce was finalized without any financial settlement given.
The mansion felt warm and peaceful once again now.
Richard devoted all his free time to his daughter.
He removed every memory of Victoria from their home.
He installed new safety gates near all the balconies.
Lily grew into a happy, bright, laughing little girl.
She played safely in the large green backyard everyday.
The nanny and housekeeper cared for her with love.
Richard sat on the outdoor patio watching her play.
He smiled as she chased colorful butterflies through grass.
He knew his late wife was watching over them.
They had survived the ultimate betrayal of dark greed.
Their bond as father and daughter was stronger now.
Richard: Come inside for lunch, my little princess!
Lily: Coming, Daddy, watch me run super fast!
She ran directly into his loving, open arms tightly.
He lifted her high into the bright sunny air.
Laughter filled the air where terror once had lived.
Justice had been served and peace was fully restored.
They were finally safe in their happy home forever.
