An hour later, police cruisers arrived at the mansion.
Red and blue lights flashed against the marble walls.
Two officers reviewed the high definition security video tape.
The footage clearly showed Victoria dropping the innocent toddler.
The lead officer looked at Richard with deep sympathy.
Officer: This tape gives us all the legal proof.
Richard: Please make sure she never comes near us.
Officer: She will face severe criminal charges for this.
Richard: Thank you for taking action so quickly today.
The police located Victoria down the street fast.
They placed her under arrest for attempted murder immediately.
She wept hysterically as they put her in handcuffs.
Her dreams of a multi-million dollar estate vanished forever.
Back inside the quiet home, Richard sat down slowly.
Lily had finally stopped crying in his warm lap.
She held onto his shirt with her tiny fingers.
Richard felt a deep wave of gratitude wash over.
He had saved his precious daughter just in time.
He realized how close he came to losing everything.
He held the framed photo of his late wife.
He made a quiet promise to her sacred memory.
Richard: I will always protect our sweet little angel.
Lily looked up at him with her big eyes.
She placed her tiny hand against his tired cheek.
Lily: Daddy saved me from the bad fall.
Richard: I will always catch you, my baby girl.
He kissed her forehead and hugged her very tight.
The mansion was quiet and safe once again now.
The dark shadow of greed was permanently driven away.
He knew they would heal together as a family.
