The heavy mahogany double doors of the main entrance suddenly swung wide open.
Richard Sterling stepped into the foyer wearing a perfectly tailored dark suit.
Two large security officers walked sternly directly behind the powerful wealthy businessman.
The entire room fell into a heavy and tense silence as Richard looked around.
Richard: What is going on here, and why is there broken glass everywhere?
Victoria immediately changed her angry expression into a soft and tearful fake smile.
She rushed over toward Richard and put her hands over her dramatic face.
Victoria: Oh Richard, your son just threw a tantrum and smashed the vase!
Richard: Leo, is this true? Did you break your late mother's vase?
Leo shook his head rapidly, pointing a trembling finger directly at Victoria.
Leo: Dad, she pushed the vase down on purpose to frame me!
Victoria: He is lying to save himself from getting grounded, my love!
Sarah stepped forward firmly, standing directly next to young Leo in the light.
Sarah: Sir, as an employee tonight, I witnessed the entire event clearly.
Richard: Who are you, and why are you taking my son's side?
Sarah: My name is Sarah, and I saw Miss Victoria drop it intentionally.
Victoria gasped dramatically and turned toward Richard with frantic wide eyes.
Victoria: She is lying, Richard! The waitress is trying to get money!
Sarah: I do not want your money, I only care about the truth.
Richard looked closely at the waitress's brave and honest face for several seconds.
He could sense genuine integrity in Sarah's firm stance and steady eye contact.
He then turned his gaze toward his young son's tear-stained face.
Richard: Leo has never lied to me about his late mother's items before.
Victoria: Are you really going to trust a servant over your future wife?
Richard: I trust facts, Victoria, and something here does not feel right.
Sarah pulled a small metallic object out from under the broken glass pieces.
Sarah: Look here, sir, your missing pocket watch was hidden right underneath.
Victoria froze completely as the shiny golden pocket watch glittered under the light.
