The Video On The Screen

The Secret Husband Crashing My Billionaire Wedding Dinner

The silence in the penthouse suite was suffocating, broken only by the sound of rain tapping against the glass terrace doors.

Ethan pointed a trembling finger at the iPad screen still clutched in Mark’s grip.

Ethan: Play that footage again. From the very beginning.

Mark: Gladly, Mr. Vance. Watch her right hand in this clip.

The video restarted with crystal clear audio, capturing the echo of the small Las Vegas wedding chapel.

Chloe was wearing a simple white silk dress, smiling radiantly beside a man with slicked-back dark hair and a tailored gray suit.

Ethan: That's Julian Ross. My stepbrother’s investment partner.

Mark: Bingo. And he’s also my former boss at Ross Capital.

Chloe: Ethan, listen to me for one second! Julian forced me into that chapel!

Ethan: Forced you? You're smiling on camera, Chloe! You signed the marriage certificate with your own hand!

Chloe: He held my mother's medical debt over my head! I didn't have a choice!

Mark: Don't buy her tears, sir. She flew first class to Vegas on Julian's corporate card three days after you announced your inheritance clause in the press.

Ethan turned his icy gaze toward Chloe, who was trembling against the edge of the dining credenza.

Ethan: Is that true? Did you know about my grandfather's trust fund before we even met at the charity gala?

Chloe: No! Ethan, I swear on my life, our meeting was an accident!

Mark: An accident? Mr. Vance, pull up the guest roster from the charity gala three months ago.

Ethan: How do you know about my guest roster?

Mark: Because Julian paid me five thousand dollars to swap Chloe's name onto the VIP table seating right next to yours.

Chloe lunged forward, trying to swat the iPad out of Mark’s hands, but Ethan stepped between them.

Ethan: Don't you dare touch him, Chloe.

Chloe: He's an extortionist, Ethan! He was fired from Ross Capital last week for stealing trade secrets!

Mark: I wasn't fired for stealing trade secrets, Chloe. I was fired because I found your draft prenup in Julian’s private cloud drive.

Ethan: What draft prenup?

Mark: The one where she planned to marry you tonight, wait six months until your grandfather's estate transferred into your joint account, and file for an immediate contested divorce.

Ethan felt a sharp, bitter nausea rise in his throat as the pieces locked together in his mind.

Ethan: You wanted half of the family trust fund.

Chloe: Ethan, that wasn't my plan! Julian wrote that agreement! He told me if I didn't cooperate, he would destroy my family!

Ethan: And you thought robbing me was a better alternative?

Chloe: I fell in love with you! After we started dating, I tried to pull out! I told Julian I wouldn't do it!

Mark: Really, Chloe? Then why did you wire fifty thousand dollars from Ethan’s secondary black card to Julian's offshore account yesterday afternoon?

Ethan stopped cold, staring directly into Chloe's wide, panicked eyes.

Ethan: You told me that charge was for your mother’s specialized hospice care in Boston.

Chloe: Ethan, please... let me show you the hospital invoices...

Ethan: Show me right now. Open your phone and pull up the bank portal.

Chloe clutched her phone against her chest, her fingers frozen over the glass screen.

Ethan: Unlock the phone, Chloe. Or I call the police and report grand larceny this very second.

Chloe slowly lowered her head, the confident charm she had worn for months crumbling away into nothing.
