Julian let his heavy leather briefcase drop loudly onto the floor.
He rushed across the grand foyer toward his trembling wife and the weeping nanny.
Julian: Victoria, why were you shoving Clara to the ground?
Victoria: Darling, thank goodness you are finally home!
Clara: Sir, she was trying to take my baby away!
Victoria: Do not listen to her insane lies, Julian!
Victoria wiped her smooth forehead and forced a fake look of deep sorrow onto her face.
She walked over to Julian and grabbed his dark wool coat with both hands.
Victoria: This ungrateful nanny was trying to steal our baby and run away with him!
Clara: That is a complete lie and you know it!
Julian: Clara, please remain calm and explain what happened.
Clara: Leo is my biological baby, Mr. Sterling!
Clara: I brought him here under your agreement six months ago!
Julian lowered his brow and looked carefully between the two frantic women.
He had spent the last three months traveling overseas for his family's investment firm.

Julian: Victoria, we spoke about hiring Clara to live here with her child.
Victoria: She signed over her legal rights weeks ago while you were in London!
Clara: I never signed any legal document! She forced me to sign fake paperwork!
Victoria: She is lying to cover up her stolen money scheme!
Victoria pulled a crisp white paper document from her silk dress pocket.
She thrust the official looking paper directly into Julian's steady hands.
Victoria: See for yourself, Julian!
Victoria: Her signature is right there at the bottom of the page!
Julian scanned the legal language printed along the document quickly with dark eyes.
The paper claimed Clara surrendered all parental custody over the young infant named Leo.
Clara scrambled to her feet and wiped her wet eyes with her sleeve.
Clara: She threatened to fire me and make me homeless if I did not sign a standard employment form!
Clara: She swapped the pages behind my back, sir!
Victoria: She is a fraud who wants our family inheritance, Julian!
Julian: Silence, both of you right now!
Julian looked down at the tiny baby boy sitting inside the wooden playpen.
Leo stopped weeping and looked up at Julian with bright blue eyes.
Julian felt a strange lump form inside his throat as he gazed down at the boy.
Julian: This document looks official, but something does not feel right here.
Victoria: Are you taking the side of a poor servant over your own wife?

Clara: Check the security camera recordings in the hallway office, Mr. Sterling!
Victoria's face instantly lost all of its natural color upon hearing those words.
Her hands began to shake inside the wide sleeves of her silk gown.
Victoria: The cameras were turned off for maintenance today!
Clara: No they were not, sir!
