Confrontation in the Foyer

The Rich Stepmother Tried To Ruin My Daughter's Life

Arthur opened the office door and walked back into the bright foyer.

Victoria was pacing near the front door holding a stack of legal papers.

She turned around with a tight smile when she saw Arthur approaching her.

Victoria: Arthur, let us sit down and discuss a peaceful settlement right now.

Arthur: There is nothing to settle with someone who puts a child in danger.

Victoria: I am your legal wife and co-owner of this grand property!

Arthur: You signed a strict prenup before our wedding four months ago.

Victoria: That document means nothing if you slander my name in public!

Arthur walked closer to her while keeping Lily secured behind his arm.

Arthur: The security footage clearly shows you dropping Lily's necklace on purpose.

Victoria: I was simply looking at it because it was dirty!

Arthur: You let a seven-year-old child nearly fall down twenty steep steps!

Victoria: She stumbled on her own shoes because you buy her loose footwear!

Arthur laughed coldly at Victoria's absolute refusal to admit any guilt.

Arthur: You only married me to get access to my family trust fund.

Victoria: I loved you, Arthur, but you treat me like a stranger!

Arthur: You treated my daughter like an obstacle in your way!

Victoria's eyes turned sharp and cold as her polite facade dropped away.

Victoria: If you file for divorce, I will demand half of this mansion!

Arthur: You will not get a single penny from my estate, Victoria.

Victoria: My lawyer will drag your name through every media outlet in town!

Arthur: Go ahead and try, because the video proof is already backed up.

Victoria stepped forward aggressively and pointed her finger at Arthur's face.

Victoria: You think you are so smart with your corporate wealth and security!

Arthur: Step away from my face before I call security to remove you.

The front doorbell rang loudly across the high ceiling of the foyer.

Arthur walked past Victoria and opened the massive front double doors.

His lawyer Marcus was standing on the porch holding a black leather briefcase.

Two police officers stood right beside Marcus with serious looks on their faces.

Marcus: Hello Arthur, I brought the proper authorities along with me as requested.

Arthur: Thank you, Marcus, please step inside and look at the evidence.

Victoria stood frozen near the grand staircase as she saw the police officers.

Her face went pale as she realized her plan had completely failed.
