David rushed into the grand foyer, his charcoal grey suit jacket dripping with rain from the heavy storm outside.
He had forgotten key legal files for his morning meeting and had returned to the mansion unexpectedly.
The sudden sound of the baby screaming and shouting echoed down from the high second-floor balcony above.
David: What on earth is going on here?!
Victoria’s expression changed in a single second from furious hatred to panicked fake desperation.
She rushed down the first few steps of the grand staircase, waving her hands wildly in the air.
Victoria: David! Thank goodness you are back home!
Victoria: This clumsy nanny almost dropped your baby over the railing!
Victoria: Shut up, Clara! Not another word out of you!
Clara stood up from the floor, holding the secure baby seat tightly in her safe, trembling arms.
Tears of pure adrenaline streamed down her face, but her voice rang out strong and completely clear.
Clara: Sir, please! She pushed the seat on purpose!
Clara: She shoved it toward the edge! She tried to get rid of Leo!
David’s face turned pale, then filled with intense fury as he looked from Clara up to Victoria.
He had noticed small inconsistencies in Victoria's behavior over the past few weeks, but had brushed them aside.
Now, seeing Clara kneeling on the floor clutching his crying son, the harsh truth hit him instantly.
David marched up the stairs with fast, heavy footsteps, his fists clenched tight at his sides.
David: You have crossed the line for the very last time, Victoria!
Victoria: She is lying, David! You have to believe me!
David: Get out of my face right now!
David pointed a sharp, commanding finger directly at Victoria's face, his voice booming through the foyer.
David: Pack your things and get out of my house this instant!
Victoria tried to step toward him, but her heel caught on her long dress, sending her stumbling backward.
She fell heavily onto the polished floor landing, gasping in total shock and burning embarrassment.
Her perfect emerald dress was wrinkled, and her manicured hand shook as she stared up at David.
Victoria: You cannot throw me out like this!
David: Watch me, Victoria! It is over!
David did not give her another second of his attention as he turned directly toward Clara and Leo.
