The Confrontation In Hall

The Rich Stepmother Tried To Lock Away The Baby Boy

Elena found the brass master key tucked away under a stack of legal documents.

She grabbed the cold key and sprinted straight back down to the dark basement floor.

Her hands shook violently as she inserted the long key into the heavy iron door lock.

The lock turned with a sharp click, and the heavy door swung open instantly.

Cold air rushed out of the room, and baby Leo's cheeks were pale and red.

Elena reached down quickly and gathered the shivering infant into her warm arms.

Elena: You are safe now, sweet boy. I have got you right here.

She wrapped her warm fleece sweater around the cold baby and held him very tightly.

Leo buried his small face into her shoulder and let out small soft sobs.

Elena marched upstairs toward the main living room with fire burning in her eyes.

She walked right past the large American flag into the center of the grand room.

Victoria was sitting gracefully on the plush sofa, sipping a fresh glass of sparkling juice.

She froze in utter shock when she saw Elena holding the warm baby in her arms.

Victoria: How did you get in there? You worthless little maid!

Elena: How could you do something so evil to an innocent child?

Victoria stood up angrily, her blue diamond gown rustling loudly against the marble floor.

Victoria: Give me that baby right now! You have no right to question me!

Elena: I will never let your cruel hands touch this baby again!

Victoria stepped forward with her arm raised high in pure venomous rage.

Victoria: You are fired! Get out of my house this instant!

Elena: Touch me if you dare! Everyone will know what a monster you are!

Victoria glared at Elena with intense hatred as she realized her plan had failed.

Victoria: Who do you think Arthur will believe? A poor maid or his wife?

Elena: Justice always finds a way, Mrs. Sterling. You cannot hide this evil act.

Just then, the grand front double doors of the mansion burst open with a loud thud.

Heavy, powerful footsteps echoed across the high ceiling of the central marble entrance hall.

Arthur Sterling had returned home early from his downtown corporate board meeting.

He wore a sharp dark suit and held his black leather briefcase in his right hand.

He stopped dead in his tracks as he saw the heated scene unfolding before him.
