Victoria stopped backing away and straightened her posture with a cold look.
Her forced smile disappeared completely from her sharp face.
Victoria: You cannot throw me out of this house, Richard.
Richard: Watch me, Victoria.
Victoria: I signed the updated property deed four weeks ago while you were away.
Victoria: Half of this Dallas mansion legally belongs to me now.
Richard stood completely still as the words sank into his mind.
He remembered signing routine stack of estate documents presented by Victoria's lawyer.
He had trusted her completely as his lawful wife of two years.
Richard: You put a deed transfer in the middle of those tax files?
Victoria: My attorney made sure everything was perfectly legal.
Victoria: If you try to remove me, I will take half your company in court.
Clara looked between her father and Victoria with wide, terrified eyes.
Clara: Dad, she made me sign papers too.
Richard: What papers did she make you sign, sweetheart?
Clara: She brought a man with a stamp three weeks ago.
Clara: She said if I signed, she would let me see you when you got back.
Clara: I didn't know what the paper meant, but I just wanted to see you.
Richard felt a cold chill run down his back as he listened to his daughter.
Clara had a trust fund left to her by her late mother five years ago.
The trust fund held ten million dollars intended for Clara's twenty-first birthday.
Victoria had obviously targeted that trust fund while Richard was out of state.
Richard: Where are those signed papers right now, Victoria?
Victoria: Safe in my private desk inside the home office.
Victoria: And there is nothing you can do about it without my consent.
Richard pulled his cell phone from his suit jacket pocket with calm precision.
He dialed a familiar ten-digit number without taking his eyes off Victoria.
Richard: Marcus, this is Richard. I need you at my house immediately.
Richard: Bring every forensic accountant and legal partner in your firm.
Richard: We have a major fraud case inside my own home.
