The Rich Stepmother Dumbed My Bag But Found Her Worse Nightmare

Within two hours, the grand living room of the Vance estate was filled with serious faces as the family lawyer, Mr. Harrison, arrived carrying a thick black briefcase. Mr. Harrison had served Arthur Vance for over thirty years and knew every secret detail of the family business. He sat down at the heavy mahogany desk while David and Hannah sat together on the sofa. Evelyn paced back and forth near the large window, her arms crossed tightly, her blue sequined dress shimmering under the bright afternoon light. Her initial confidence was completely gone, replaced by a cold fear as Mr. Harrison pulled out the original seal-stamped trust documents from his leather briefcase.

Mr. Harrison: I have reviewed the photograph and the old agency records, David.

David: And what did you find, Mr. Harrison?

Mr. Harrison: Arthur never stopped searching for his daughter. He registered her official DNA profile fifteen years ago.

Evelyn: What does that mean? What are you saying, Harrison?

Mr. Harrison: It means we don't have to wait weeks for a standard test. We can verify her identity immediately through the court registry.

Hannah sat quietly, holding a warm cup of tea that David had handed her earlier. She watched as Mr. Harrison made a quick phone call to the central state registry, confirming the legal case file numbers that matched her late mother's legal papers. As the lawyer spoke on the phone, his face softened into a smile of immense relief and satisfaction. He hung up the phone, adjusted his reading glasses, and looked over at Hannah with deep respect. The legal chain was unbroken; the missing daughter of Arthur Vance had finally been officially verified beyond any shadow of a doubt.

Mr. Harrison: It is confirmed. Hannah Vance is the rightful legal primary heir to forty percent of the estate trust.

David: That means she owns the controlling interest in this mansion and the main accounts.

Mr. Harrison: Correct. And according to Arthur's specific fraud prevention clause, any step-relative who attempts to unlawfully displace or falsely accuse a verified heir loses all monthly stipend rights immediately.

Evelyn: What?! You can't strip away my monthly allowance! That is illegal!

Mr. Harrison: It is entirely legal, Mrs. Vance. You signed that exact agreement during probate settlement.

Evelyn's eyes opened wide in utter horror and shock as the reality of her cruel actions crashed down on her. Her plan to humiliate Hannah by dumping her purse in front of David had completely backfired, exposing her own greed and stripping away the very luxury she had spent years clinging to. She looked over at David, hoping to find a shred of sympathy, but David's face was set like stone. He stood up from the sofa, stepping between Evelyn and his newly found sister with total calm authority.

David: Pack your bags, Evelyn. You have two hours to pack your clothes and leave my house.

Evelyn: David, please... we can work this out! I was just stressed about the household budget!

David: You treated my sister like trash and tried to ruin her life. You are done here.

Evelyn: You will be hearing from my divorce lawyer about this!

David: Tell your lawyer to call Mr. Harrison. Now get out of my sight.
