The morning sun rose bright over the sprawling green lawn of the estate.
Mark sat at his large wooden desk inside his private home office suite.
He was talking on the phone with his trusted personal legal counselor.
Lawyer: We have secured a full restraining order against Evelyn this morning.
Mark: Thank you so much for handling this matter so quickly John.
Lawyer: The security footage you sent over made the judge's decision very easy.
Mark: She will not be allowed near my daughter or my property again?
Lawyer: She cannot come within five hundred feet of your family ever again.
Mark let out a long deep sigh of pure relief as he hung up the line.
He looked at a framed photo sitting on the edge of his oak desk.
It was a photo of his late wife smiling brightly holding baby Lily.
He promised right then to always protect his daughter above everything else.
No amount of wealth or social status could ever replace true family love.
He stood up from his desk chair and walked down to the sunny kitchen.
Martha was busy flipping warm golden pancakes on the hot stove burner.
Lily was sitting in a high chair laughing while coloring in her book.
Lily: Daddy look! I colored a bright red heart for you today!
Mark: That is the most beautiful picture I have ever seen sweetie!
Mark pulled up a wooden chair and sat right next to his precious girl.
He took a piece of warm pancake and placed it gently on her plate.
Mark: We are going to take a long family vacation together next week.
Lily: Can we go to the big ocean beach and build sand castles?
Mark: We can go anywhere you want in the whole wide world Lily.
Martha: You deserve a peaceful happy trip after everything that happened sir.
Mark: My family is safe now and that is all that really matters.
Lily reached out her small hand and squeezed her father's fingers gently.
Mark smiled warmly knowing that his home was finally peaceful and full of joy.
