The warm summer wind blew across the sparkling water of the pool.
Julian pulled a folded white legal document out of his suit jacket pocket.
He held the paper firmly in front of his mother's furious face.
Julian: You think you control this house because of father's original will.
Evelyn: I am the primary executor of the Sterling family estate!
Julian: Father updated his last will three weeks before he passed away.
Evelyn: That is impossible because he was sick in the hospital!
Julian: He was completely clear in his mind and he knew your true nature.
Evelyn snatched the paper from Julian's hand and began reading it quickly.
Her face lost all its color as her eyes moved across the typed lines.
Sarah smiled softly and took a step back toward the open patio doors.
Clara: Julian, what does that document actually say?
Julian: Father left sixty percent of the estate to his first grandchild.
Evelyn: This document is a fake and I will challenge it!
Julian: Our family estate lawyer signed and notarized every single page himself.
Evelyn: You went behind my back to steal my rightful house!
Julian: Father wanted to make sure the family wealth was protected from greed.
Evelyn backed up slowly toward the edge of the large outdoor pool.
Her gold dress rustled loudly against the stone edge of the water pool.
She held the legal paper in her hand while her body shook with anger.
Evelyn: I gave thirty years of my life to building this name!
Julian: You spent thirty years mistreating everyone around you for power.
Evelyn: You are choosing a stranger over your own mother!
Julian: Clara is my family now, and so is our unborn child.
Evelyn gasped and took another step back without looking where she stepped.
Her high heel caught the edge of a wet decorative garden hose.
She lost her balance completely and tumbled backward into the deep pool.
