Evelyn stood completely frozen in her bright gold dress under the warm sun.
She looked down at Clara's stomach with a mix of shock and total disbelief.
Evelyn: You are making up a lie to stay in this house!
Sarah: I saw the doctor's report on her desk yesterday morning!
Evelyn: That child will not get one single cent of our fortune!
Clara: We do not want your money, Evelyn!
Evelyn: I will make sure Julian divorces you before sunset today!
Suddenly the heavy wooden balcony doors behind them slammed open with power.
Julian Sterling rushed out onto the marble terrace wearing a navy blue suit.
His face was red with anger as he looked at his mother.
Julian: What on earth is going on out here right now?
Evelyn: Julian, thank goodness you are home to handle this disaster!
Julian: I heard you shouting all the way from the front driveway!
Clara: Julian, please tell me you did not know about this!
Julian ran straight over to Clara and wrapped his arms around her tightly.
He looked into her tearful eyes with deep love and protective care.
Julian: Are you okay, sweetheart? Did she hurt you?
Clara: I am okay, but she tried to force me to leave.
Julian: Mother, have you lost your mind entirely?
Evelyn: I am protecting our estate from a conniving gold digger!
Julian: Clara is my wife and she is the best person I know!
Julian stood tall and blocked his mother from coming any closer to Clara.
Evelyn pointed her hand toward the maid with sharp fury in her eyes.
Evelyn: That maid just made a ridiculous claim about a baby!
Julian: It is not a claim, Mother, it is the absolute truth.
Evelyn: You knew about this and did not tell your own mother?
Julian: We wanted to tell you together at dinner tonight peacefully.
Evelyn: This changes nothing about her background or her family line!
Julian shook his head in total disgust at his mother's cold words.
