The afternoon sun cast a warm golden light through windows.
Mark sat on the living room sofa holding his young boy.
Leo drank a fresh box of organic apple juice quietly.
Leo: Is that mean lady ever coming back here, Dad?
Mark: No, Leo, she is gone for good now.
Leo: I was really scared when you were away on plane.
Mark kissed the top of his son's soft blonde head gently.
Mark: I will always protect you no matter where I am.
His legal lawyer entered the room with updated official documents.
Lawyer: The emergency restraining order has been granted by court.
Mark: Good, make sure the divorce papers are finalized today.
Lawyer: She will receive nothing from your estate or business.
Mark nodded with complete satisfaction at the law news.
Mark: Every single penny stays in Leo's trust fund.
Leo looked up at his father with a sweet brave smile.
Leo: Can we go get ice cream now, Dad?
Mark smiled warmly for the first time all stressful day.
Mark: We can get whatever sweet treat you want today.
They walked out to the car holding hands very tight.
Mark knew his main duty was keeping his child safe.
The dark storm over their family had finally passed away.
Justice had been served and their home was safe again.
