The superyacht returned to the harbor two hours later, docking smoothly alongside the private marina. Two police cars were already waiting near the pier with their red and blue lights flashing against the palm trees. Arthur had called his personal litigation attorney and the local police captain while the ship was sailing back to shore.
As soon as the gangway was lowered, two officers walked aboard to interview Victoria and Richard regarding the incident on the open sea and the attempted coercion involving the trust fund. Victoria looked pale and defeated as she was led toward a police cruiser to give her official statement, her expensive silk blouse rumpled and ruined.
Victoria: Arthur, please don't do this! We can settle this quietly inside the family mansion!
Arthur: The family mansion is no longer your home, Victoria. My lawyers will serve your divorce papers tomorrow morning.
Richard tried to speak to his defense attorney on his cell phone, but an officer confiscated his device as they guided him off the vessel. Sarah sat inside the main saloon of the yacht, sipping hot tea while Leo slept peacefully under a soft wool blanket on the leather sofa next to her.
Arthur walked into the saloon and sat down in the armchair across from Sarah. He opened a small leather briefcase he had retrieved from his private safe in the master cabin. He pulled out an original document stamped with a red wax seal and laid it gently on the coffee table in front of Sarah.
Arthur: This is Julian's true final will and testament, Sarah. He updated it with my attorney three weeks before his fatal accident.
Sarah: Julian made a separate will?
Arthur: He knew his mother would try to take control of his estate if anything ever happened to him. He left fifty percent of his corporate voting stock directly to you, and the remaining fifty percent in a protected trust fund for Leo that matures when he turns twenty-one.
Sarah touched the paper with tears filling her eyes. Seeing Julian's neat signature at the bottom of the page brought a wave of comfort and relief that she had not felt in months.
Arthur: You are now the largest individual shareholder in Sterling Global Enterprises, Sarah. No one can ever push you around again.
Sarah: I don't care about the company power, Arthur. I just wanted my son to be safe and remembered.
Arthur: He is remembered, and he will be raised by the mother who risked her life to hold onto him over the open ocean.
Sarah looked out the large glass window at the calm water of the marina. The scary nightmare on the open ocean was finally over, replaced by a bright future built on truth, justice, and real love.
