The wind blew harder as the massive superyacht sliced through the rising swell. Sarah knelt near the front edge of the bow deck, scooping up the scattering legal pages while keeping one arm wrapped firmly around Leo's waist. Suddenly, a massive ocean wave hit the side of the hull, causing the entire ship to tilt sharply to the left. Sarah lost her footing on the wet wooden deck and slipped toward the stainless steel railing at the very tip of the ship.
Sarah: Hold on to me, Leo!
The force of the sudden movement pushed Sarah over the lower safety wire. In a terrifying second, her feet slid completely off the deck. She managed to catch the upper metal bar with her right hand, while her left arm remained tightly locked around her screaming child. They were suspended high above the roaring blue water, with the white spray crashing violently against the hull directly beneath them.
Leo: Mommy! I'm scared! Don't let me fall in!
Sarah: Hold on to me! I've got you! Close your eyes, sweetie!
Sarah's fingers were numb from the cold wind and slick from the ocean spray. She could feel her strength fading fast as the weight of her son pulled down on her tired arms. Looking up through her blurred, wet eyes, she saw Victoria standing on the upper deck balcony, staring down in absolute shock.
Victoria: Oh my god! Arthur, look!
Victoria stumbled backward in total panic, her hands flying to her mouth as she let out a loud shriek. She hit the edge of a white outdoor sofa inside the open upper lounge and collapsed onto the cushions next to a large framed American flag mounted on the wood-paneled wall.
Arthur: What happened out there?! Victoria, what are you screaming about?!
Arthur rushed out onto the upper balcony and looked down over the edge. His face turned pale as he saw his late son's wife and young grandson hanging off the tip of the bow over the open ocean.
Arthur: Sarah! Hold on! Don't let go!
Richard: Arthur, wait! The deck is slippery! Let the crew handle it!
Arthur: Get out of my way, Richard!
Arthur pushed past Richard with surprising force and sprinted down the stairs leading to the bow deck. His heart was pounding frantically against his ribs as he ran across the wet wooden deck, his dark dress shoes slipping on the wet teak floor. He reached the tip of the bow just as Sarah's fingers began to slip off the smooth chrome railing.
Arthur: Hold on! Give me your hand right now!
Arthur leaned over the railing, stretching his long arms out as far as he could. He grabbed Sarah's forearm with a iron grip, straining every muscle in his senior body to lift them up against the howling wind.
Sarah: Pull us up! He's slipping!
Arthur: I have you both! I won't lose my son and grandson today!
With a final grunt of extreme physical effort, Arthur hauled Sarah and Leo over the safety rail, pulling them onto the safe wooden deck. Sarah collapsed onto her knees, pulling Leo tight against her chest as tears streamed down her wet face. Arthur wrapped his arms around both of them, breathing heavily as he checked his grandson for injuries.
Sarah: Thank you! Thank you so much!
Arthur: You're safe now. Both of you are safe. I've got you.
