Arthur hurried up the broad staircase with a stern, focused look across his sharp face.
He looked between his weeping maid cradling his son and his visibly agitated young wife.
Victoria immediately changed her expression to fake sorrow and rushed toward her wealthy husband.
She pointed a trembling finger at Elena and accused her of placing Leo in danger.
Victoria claimed that Elena lost her footing and almost let the infant fall over.
Arthur looked toward Elena with deep concern while his face twisted into serious focus.
Elena held baby Leo securely and looked directly into Arthur's eyes without any fear.
She declared loudly that Victoria was telling complete lies to cover up her actions.
Elena explained how Victoria tried to snatch the child recklessly near the steep edge.
Victoria shouted back angrily, telling Arthur to fire the maid and throw her out.
Arthur raised his hand firmly to silence both women as the tension filled the room.
He asked Elena if she had any proof to back up such a serious claim.
Elena calmly reached into her grey apron pocket and pulled out her small mobile phone.
She unlocked the screen and pressed play on the audio file she recorded earlier today.
Victoria's clear voice echoed through the hallway, revealing her scheme for the inheritance money.
The recording clearly captured Victoria admitting her plan to fabricate an accident for financial gain.
Arthur listened to every word as his jaw clenched tightly with explosive inner anger.
Victoria's face turned completely pale as she realized her deception was fully exposed now.
Arthur looked at his wife with intense anger that shook the silence of the hall.
He stepped in front of Elena and blocked Victoria from getting anywhere near his son.
The truth was now out in the open, and consequences were about to fall hard.
