Justice Served Cold

The Maid Who Risked Everything To Save A Helpless Child

The senior police officer did not hesitate for another single second after watching the clear video.

He pulled his heavy steel handcuffs from his utility belt with a sharp, metallic clicking sound.

"Victoria Sterling, you are under arrest for child endangerment and physical assault," the officer said.

He grabbed her wrists firmly and snapped the cold metal handcuffs tightly around her wrists.

Victoria let out a loud, dramatic shriek, struggling against the strong grip of the police officer.

"Get your hands off me! Do you know how much my husband's estate is worth?"

"My lawyer will destroy every single one of you by tomorrow morning!" she shrieked loudly.

"Officer, lock this criminal away immediately," Richard said, his voice cold as blocks of ice.

"I will be calling my divorce lawyer and filing a full criminal lawsuit within the hour."

"You will never set foot in this mansion or near my son ever again in your life."

The two officers escorted the screaming, crying woman out through the massive double front doors.

Her bright yellow dress dragged along the floor as she was led away toward the squad car.

The heavy front doors slammed shut, bringing a sudden, peaceful silence back to the grand house.

Richard dropped to his knees on the marble floor, opening his arms wide toward his young son.

Leo ran into his father's arms, wrapping his small hands around his dad's neck tightly now.

"I am so sorry, Leo," Richard sobbed, holding his boy close and crying tears of true regret.

"I was so blind... I almost lost the most important thing in my whole life today."

Richard stood up slowly, holding Leo securely in his arms, and turned to face the maid.

Elena was quietly gathering her cleaning supplies, preparing to pack her small belongings and leave peacefully.

"Elena, wait," Richard said softly, walking over to stand directly in front of her now.

"You saved my son's life today when I was too blind to see the real danger."

"You stood up to a powerful person and risked your own job just to protect a child."
