The Confrontation in the Foyer

The Maid Who Refused to Abandon Her Bosses Traumatized Son

The next morning, Victoria arrived at the mansion with two estate attorneys, expecting David to hand over the signed trust fund control forms. The morning sunlight poured through the front glass doors, illuminating the grand foyer under the American flag where Mateo had suffered his breakdown weeks earlier.

David stood at the bottom of the staircase, dressed in a crisp navy suit, with Elena standing calmly at his right hand. Mateo was sitting safely on the upper landing, drawing a picture with his colored pencils.

Victoria: Did you sign the custody papers, David? My lawyers are ready to process them.

David: I signed something else, Victoria. I signed a full audit request for Sarah's estate.

Victoria: What are you talking about? You can't do that!

David: We found the missing bank records, Victoria. We know about the foundation funds.

Victoria's face turned completely pale as she looked from David to Elena. She stepped forward aggressively, pointing an angry finger directly at Elena's face.

Victoria: You! You dirty maid! You ruined everything!

David: Get out of my house right now before I have the police arrest you for fraud!

Victoria: You are choosing a servant over your own family?!

David: Elena is more family to us than you ever were!

Victoria gasped, looking at the firm resolve in David's eyes. Realizing her legal trap was completely destroyed, she turned on her heel and stormed out the massive double doors, her attorneys following silently behind her. The heavy front door shut with a solid, final click, leaving the house in peaceful warmth.
