The Maid Kneels Down When The Mother Drags Her Crying Baby

The grand crystal chandelier cast long, glittering reflections across the white marble floor inside the Palm Beach mansion. High on the surrounding walls, large American flags hung in quiet dignity, contrasting sharply with the horrific scene unfolding in the foyer. A woman in a dark blue silk dress gripped a helpless toddler in a diaper by his tiny arm. She pulled him aggressively across the cold stone, ignoring his desperate sobs as his small feet scraped against the polished marble floor.

Baby: Please let me go, Mommy! It hurts! Stop dragging me!

Vanessa: Shut up! Stop making noise before I give you something to really cry about!

From the corner of the foyer, Maria, the household maid, gasped in horror. Fresh bruises from previous arguments with the mistress marked her own cheek, but she could not stand by and watch a child suffer. She rushed forward across the white marble, her heart pounding against her ribs.

Maria: Oh no, leave the poor child alone! Please, Miss Vanessa!

Vanessa: Back off, Maria! Mind your own business!

Maria dropped to her knees on the cold floor, reaching out her trembling arms to wrap the crying toddler in a tight, protective embrace. The little boy clung to Maria’s apron, hiding his wet face against her chest while shaking uncontrollably.

Baby: Hold me tight, don't let her touch me!

Vanessa: How dare you interfere! You're just a servant in this house!

Before Vanessa could strike the maid, the double front doors swung open. Marcus, a tall billionaire in a sharp blue suit, walked into the foyer, his face turning pale as he took in the scene. He rushed forward and dropped to his knees beside Maria and his sobbing son.

Marcus: What is going on here?! What happened to my son?!

Baby: Daddy, she was hurting me!

Maria: Sir, she abuses and beats the child every single day!

Marcus’s jaw set tightly as his eyes filled with fierce rage. Holding his son securely in one arm, he stood up abruptly, pointing a trembling finger at Vanessa’s face.

Marcus: Get out of my house right now, you monster!

Vanessa: Marcus, wait! The maid is lying to you!

Marcus: I heard my own son's voice, Vanessa! Your time in this home is completely over!
