Julian: Speak to me right now! What lullaby did you sing to my children?
Clara: I sang the song about the three little stars in the sky, Julian.
Julian: How do you know that song? Only one person in the world knew those words!
Evelyn: Julian, darling, don't listen to her! She probably heard me singing it in the nursery last week!
Leo: You never sing to us, Mommy Evelyn! You always tell the nanny to lock the door!
Toby: Clara holds our hands until we fall asleep! She knows all the words!
Julian turned his head slowly toward Evelyn, his brow furrowed in deep suspicion.
Julian: Evelyn, you told me you composed that song for the boys when they were infants.
Evelyn: I did! I swear I did! The maid is lying to turn our sons against me!
Clara: I wrote those words seven years ago in a hospital bed, Evelyn. Before you took everything from me.
Evelyn’s face turned completely white. She stepped backward, her long blue gown dragging across the marble floor as she pointed a trembling finger at Clara.
Evelyn: Security! Where is estate security?! Drag this woman out of the palace immediately!
Julian: Nobody touches her! Security, stand down!
Two large guards in black suits stopped dead in their tracks near the ornate double doors, looking back and forth between Julian and Evelyn.
Evelyn: Julian! I am your wife! Are you going to take the word of a common maid over mine?
Julian: I am taking the word of my sons, who have never cried like this in their entire lives.
Julian dropped to his knees on the cold checkered floor, looking directly into Clara's tear-stained face. He reached out with a shaking hand, gently touching her shoulder.
Julian: Look at me. Look me in the eye and tell me your real name.
Clara: You know my name, Julian. You used to whisper it to me every night before the accident.
Julian: Clara... My God, Clara...
Evelyn: No! Clara died seven years ago in the delivery room at St. Jude's Hospital! We buried her!
Clara: You buried a empty wooden box, Evelyn. While you paid a corrupt doctor to keep me heavily drugged in a private clinic across the state line.
A heavy, suffocating silence fell over the grand hallway. The two young boys clung to Clara's black apron, their small bodies shaking with quiet sobs as Julian stared at his long-lost wife in utter disbelief.
Julian: You were alive... All these years, you were alive?
Clara: I woke up in a sterile room three weeks after giving birth. They told me my twin baby boys were born dead.
Julian: Who told you that?! Who said my sons were dead?!
Clara: Dr. Harrison. The physician Evelyn hired for my delivery.
Julian’s hands clenched into tight fists, his knuckles turning white as he turned his gaze toward Evelyn, whose face was now slick with cold sweat.
Julian: Evelyn... What did you do seven years ago?
