She raised her hand back to threaten the cowering maid.

He reached out and caught Chloe's wrist mid-air with firm strength.
"Let go of me!" Chloe yelled out in shock.
"Angelo! What are you doing?" she screamed with fury.
Angelo gripped her wrist firmly and pulled her back.
"Drop it now, Chloe," Angelo said in a cold voice.
Chloe gasped in complete disbelief as he pulled the belt away.
"She ruined my custom shoes and humiliated me!" Chloe shrieked.
Angelo turned away from Chloe without saying another word.
He looked directly at Clara, who was trembling in fear.
Her shoulders shook as tears filled her soft eyes.
Angelo unbuttoned his fine black tuxedo jacket gently.
He took it off and placed it around Clara's shoulders.
The warm fabric covered her shaking pink uniform completely.
"Sir, I'm fine... you don't need to do this," Clara whispered softly.
Angelo shook his head gently and gave her a reassuring look.
"Hold onto my jacket," he said softly to the young maid.
Clara held the warm lapels tight and looked up with gratitude.
Angelo stood up straight and faced his angry fiancée once more.
He looked at Chloe with absolute disgust and sharp disappointment.
The American flag hung behind him in the bright sunlight.
"The engagement is completely over," Angelo declared firmly.
"Pack your belongings and leave my home right now," he ordered.
A huge gasp echoed through the crowded mansion hall.
Guests stared at each other with wide opened mouths.
"Did he really break off the wedding over a maid?" a guest asked.
Chloe turned bright red with pure shame and frustration.
"You are making the biggest mistake of your life!" Chloe screamed.
Angelo ignored her shouting and turned his back on her.
