The call connected quickly and Adrian put the phone up to his ear.
"Marcus, get my divorce lawyer and estate attorney over here now," Adrian ordered.
"I have footage of fraud and child endangerment in my home," he added.
Victoria's eyes went wide as she realized he was taking legal action fast.
She charged forward trying to grab the phone right out of his hands.
Adrian held his ground firmly and blocked her path with his arm.
"You almost destroyed my family!" Adrian declared with total conviction out loud.
He gestured firmly to the two large security guards standing near the doors.
"Escort her up to her room and lock the door," Adrian commanded them.
"She is not leaving this house until the police arrive," he added.
The guards stepped forward immediately and grabbed Victoria by both arms securely.
"Get your hands off me!" Victoria shrieked as she struggled against their grip.
"Adrian, you will regret this!" Victoria screamed across the grand foyer space.
The guards led her upstairs while her voice faded down the long hallway.
The mansion went completely quiet once again under the bright afternoon sun.
Adrian took a deep breath and smoothed down his dark suit jacket sleeve.
He walked over to where Elena stood holding little baby Leo safely.
Elena looked down nervously, still shaking from the intense confrontation earlier.
"Elena," Adrian began with a soft, deeply remorseful tone in his voice.
"I am so sorry I grabbed you," Adrian said with true sincerity.
"I acted out of fear for my boy without knowing the truth," he admitted.
Elena looked up and gave him a faint, understanding smile through tears.
"I understand, Mr. Vance," Elena replied with a gentle, humble voice.
"You saw your baby in danger and panicked like any father would," she said.
Adrian looked at his young daughter Chloe and opened his arms wide up.
Chloe ran over and hugged her father around his waist very tightly.
"You were so brave today, Chloe," Adrian whispered into her dark hair.
"I knew Victoria was hiding something terrible, Dad," Chloe said softly.
"She never cared about Leo or you from the start," Chloe added.
Adrian looked around his large mansion and felt a strange quiet relief inside.
The wealthy lifestyle meant nothing if his home was filled with deceit.
He knew he had to fix his mistakes and protect the real people here.
"Elena, you saved my son today," Adrian said looking her in the eyes.
"And you tried to protect my family's future from a thief," he added.
"Thank you from the bottom of my heart," Adrian stated with deep gratitude.
