Within fifteen minutes, police sirens echoed outside the long private driveway.
Two police officers walked into the grand foyer with their handcuffs ready.
The mortuary workers handed over the forged cremation order to the officers.
Elena walked the officers to the pantry and showed them the lock.
Officer: Miss Chloe, you are under arrest for attempted murder and kidnapping.
Chloe: You cannot arrest me, I live in this luxury mansion!
Officer: Put your hands behind your back right now, lady.
The officer clicked the cold steel handcuffs around Chloe's slender wrists.
Chloe sobbed loudly as she was led down the bright marble steps.
She looked back at Carter, but he refused to look at her.
An ambulance crew arrived right behind the police to assist Evelyn.
They carefully placed Evelyn onto a soft wheeled gurney with great care.
Paramedic: Her vital signs are stable, sir, she will survive this fall.
Carter: Thank God, please take her to the best hospital in town.
Carter turned to Elena as the paramedics pushed his mother outside.
Carter: Elena, I can never repay you for what you did today.
Elena: I just wanted to save your mother's life, Carter.
Carter: You saved my entire family from a horrible tragedy, Elena.
Carter opened his father's desk drawer inside the study near the hall.
He pulled out the original estate paperwork and reviewed the real signatures.
He saw where Chloe had tried to alter bank accounts under his name.
Carter: She was planning this betrayal for over six months.
Elena: She thought you would never find out the truth, Carter.
Carter: Truth always comes to light in the end, Elena.
